“Make a study of games. Mistakes learned on the board cost a fraction of those learned in battle.” Polydides

On release Imperivm will have four different avenues of Organized Play. For TCG players two different types of OP Tournaments: Storyline Formats and Pro-Tour Formats are available. The Veridion Campaign will consist of organized table top RPG games. Both TCG and RPG events will feed into Mosaic-Play, an online immersive experience where players can create personas that represents their character in the Imperivm world. This character can grow in power, gain titles, hold office and influence events within their City State and across the League.

Although we’re not announcing the full details of Organized Play until closer to release, we do plan to adhere to a few simple principles when it comes to Organized Play. We feel strongly that Organized Play should be fun - and have enough room for all players to find something to enjoy. For this reason we hope that the below simple guidelines will help enjoy that everyone has a place to play, and a reason to play, within the Organized Play formats.

All formats ‘exist’ within the same Imperivm world.

Pro-Tour game formats offer cash or award prizes but they never influence the story.

Storyline game formats offer influence in the storyline or benefits for your character on Mosaic-Play, but never cash prizes.

Loyalty to your chosen City State is rewarded, and certain game formats will allow players to remain loyal while also being able to have an impact on the larger game world. No longer will players have to choose between what is perceived to be the most ‘playable deck’ and loyalty to a particular City State.

There will be many kinds of prizes in OP and not all of them will solely determined by who wins the hand. This encourages players to see-through a bad game rather than throwing it, and rewards those who play well over time, even if they don’t win the pivotal game in a specific tournament.
